In case you folks are curious about exactly what it is that's keeping me from my sketchbook:

ANTH 4800: Ethnographic Fieldwork
ANTH 4250: Development of Anthropological Thought
ANTH 4600: Human Evolution
ANTH 4030: African American Cultures
ANTH 3100: Middle East Cultures

Ethnographic Fieldwork promises to be the biggest timesink; besides loads of readings and assignments I have a semester-long actual honest-to-god ethnographic fieldwork project to do. My current plan, if I don't get intimidated by my workload and bail out, is to study a local Rocky Horror cast.

Human Evolution will require me to read a novel called Ishmael, which so far appears to be a 250-page philosophy lecture from a telepathic gorilla. So, uh, that's something.
